In our school, whilst we do not have any specialist units for pupils with particular special educational needs and disabilities we aim to offer excellence and choice to all our children, whatever their ability or needs. We have high expectations of all our children and strive to put these into practice through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. We have recently reviewed our policy to meet the new requirements for SEND in line with the new SEND Code of Practice effective from 1 September 2014. To provide an improved, compliant policy this was produced in consultation with families, children and staff.
